1-2-1-1 Fullcourt Press

Just wanted to know if anybody could help me with a 1-2-1-1 press. I am thinking of running it with a Under 14 rep team and if anybody has anything they think could help it would be good.

1-2-1-1

By no means an expert but have used it very successfully with both M.S. and AAU teams (boys and girls). Have played it backed off the inbounder as well as with the lead defender in the inbounder's face. Need a "long" player with good mobility in the latter case to close the first trap. Have been able to get kids as young as 5th grade to play it w/ multiple traps and a twist or two for things like stopping the reversal etc. Must get them used to the idea of allowing the first pass to a specifically designed area. I highly recommend the John Kresse video on trapping defenses for some of the finer points. (As I said, I've been successful with it but I'm no expert. Kresse most definitely is...) Have fun with it.
