There are so many good coaches both overseas and here in our country. No different than applying for a job in the States with 1000 applicants what generally gets someone a job. It's contacts. My first question is who do you know overseas? If you don't know anyone you need to start building relationship that might afford you such an opportunity. Have you done any clinics overseas? Volunteered to help a federation in a smaller country, or maybe some less recognizable 2nd and 3rd division pro league teams that don't have the resources to bring in "top level" coaches because of costs. I have generally found over the years that the more you help others the more contacts you develop and the more opportunities arise. If you simply start by building friendship, those overseas opportunities may come. Note however that the trend over the last 10-15 years has been for countries to try to develop more coaches within their own boundaries so the jobs are increasingly more difficult to get. However, if you have knowledge, talent, and and the personal skills and ability to relate to different people and cultures there are jobs. Get to building those overseas friendships in basketball and where trust and aid are brought to these relationships, opportunities are more likely to arise than out of the blue.
