Any thoughts on how the Princeton Offense can be implemented on pro basketball witha 24" clock? I know some NBA teams run it.

Princeton Offense at the Pro Level
In reality coach the Princeton can easily work at the Pro level even with a 24 second shot clock. The cuts and motion are the same. You simply don't protect the ball for a lengthy period of time. If you have very skilled inside-outside players and 3 point shooters, you can get pretty solid looks with this 4 out 1 in structure. This is especially so if you have a great 3 point shooting 5 man. Remember the Princeton offense is primarily a motion offense where player read and react to defensive pressure. There is nothing rocket science about it. It works because of great execution and discipline just like all good offenses should. The only difference with the 24 second clock if that you will at best get a look at 3 options. So you may need to decide a bit more structure to the more commonly run system that Coach Carril used at Princeton. Sacramento showed some aspects of this offense this past season in the NBA, no doubt because Coach Carril was teaching the basics. The down side is simply the Princeton seems to work best as team tire in a defensive possession and when they feel the urge to gamble to prevent a team from playing ball possession. I think we don't see more of it at the Pro level because teams can simply contain the dribbler passer, and force a team to rush a challenged shot at the end of the 24 second clock. The key to any offense is great execution, so there is no doubt it's basic premises can work with proper understanding and execution.
